On the evening of October 28, the closing ceremony of the 17th International Student Film and Video Festival of Beijing Film Academy was successfully held in the cineplex of Beijing Film Academy. Leaders of Beijing Film Academy and all the departments, judges, guests, domestic and foreign student directors, representatives of media and universities, volunteers and audiences, together reviewed the beautiful moments of this film festival and witnessed shining moments of the award-winning films.
The atmosphere of the closing ceremony was ignited by the opening program The King of Circus brought by students majoring in performing arts. After the show, professor Hou Guangming, President of the board of Beijing film academy and President of ISFVF, delivered a closing speech. On behalf of all the teachers and students of Beijing Film Academy, professor Hou thanked all the domestic and foreign guests, friends caring and supporting the film festival, teachers and students who work hard for the film festival. Professor Hou pointed out that ISFVF is the most crucial international teaching exchange activity of Beijing Film Academy every year. The excellent films showing in the film festival, Director Visiting Class and other events have effectively promoted the teaching and broadened the horizon of teachers and students. Also, he particularly thanked special guest Vice President Olga Kleymenova and professor Ernie Tee from The Russian State University of Cinematography named after Sergey Gerasimov (VGIK) and The Netherlands Film Academy (NFA), who shared their valuable teaching concepts and enhanced the friendship between the Beijing Film Academy and their schools. Furthermore, with the successful closing of the main venue of the film festival in Beijing Film Academy, 13 branch venues of universities outside Beijing are ready to start. ISFVF's spirit of innovation will be delivered to more young film students across the country.
Subsequently, the closing ceremony formally entered the awarding stage. The Audience Award was first announced by ten judges of film festivals, including teacher Guo Jinfeng, Li Ershi, Fan Hua, Gu Yi, Meng Haojun, Zhang Chong, Li Hao, Cao Ting, Wang Naizhen and Zuo yan. The winners were GUION from Canada, Aamir from the United States, Our Blood from Italy, Royal Affairs from Germany, No Gravity from France, Faith from the United States, GOTCHA! from Bulgaria, SHATTERED from Germany, A Blink of an Eye from Germany and NESSUN DORMA from Italy.
Professor Li Jianping, dean of animation school, and professor Tong Lei, dean of the sound school, revealed the winners of Outstanding Chinese Student Film Award, they were In the Middle of Blue and The Mosquito Patch. Then professor Liu Qian, dean of digital media school, and professor Quan Yinghua, dean of management department, presented the prize for On the Land We Lament, the award-winning film of Best Chinese Student Film Award.
After the performance of The Big Fish by the students of the Academy of Performing Arts and the School of Sound, Professor Song Jing, Dean of the School of Photography, and Professor Wu Guanping, the head of the Department of Film Studies, presented the Outstanding Asian Student Film Award to “Blue Sky, Clean Earth” from Iran, and its director Mahyar Mandegar went up to the stage to receive the award. China's "Dongdongqiang" won the Best Asian Student Film Award." Professor Olga Kleymenova, Vice President of the VGIK, and Professor Ernie Tee from Netherlands Film Academy presented the award.
The Outstanding International Student Fiilm Award was subsequently announced, and three masterpieces won the award: “SIRENE” from the Netherlands, “Paris You Got Me” from Germany and “The Wound is The Place Where the Light Enters You” from China. The vice president of the Beijing Film Academy, ISFVF supervisor, Professor Yu Jianhong, the vice president of the Beijing Film Academy, ISFVF supervisor, Zhang Jian, and the dean of the organization department of the Beijing Film Academy, Mr. Tong Qifu, presented the awards to Zara Dwinger and Guo Yifei, and the main creative of "Dancing Paris", Julie Boehm, sent a video speech.
After the announcement of the above six awards, the enthusiasm of the song “Freedom” brought by the students of the Sound Academy made the atmosphere more intense! Afterward, the most exciting moment of the closing ceremony was finally ushered in. The award-winning films of the 17th International Film and Television Works Exhibition of Beijing Film Academy were officially announced!
The Bronze Award was won by “HAND“ from the Moscow Film Academy in Russia. The Vice President of the Beijing Film Academy and ISFVF supervisor, Mr. Zhang Jian, presented the award. The filmmaker sent the award-winning video and expressed their excitement.
The Silver Award was announced by Prof. Sun Lijun, Vice President of the Beijing Film Academy and ISFVF supervisor. The film “Mammoth” from the University of Southern California won the award. Director Ariel Heller sent the award-winning video and expressed his excitement.
The ISFVF Gold Award was announced by Professor Hou Guangming, Chairman of the Board of Beijing Film Academy and ISFVF. The film “Kick Tac” from University of Picardy Jules Verne in France won the championship! Director Félix Farny came up to receive the award, excitedly published the award speech and took a group photo with Professor Hou! The film is more sophisticated in the face of light and shadow on the photographic layer, paying attention to the details and portraying the story. The audience gave them warm applause and congratulations.
On the screen, a seven-day retrospective of this year's ISFVF film festival was played under the emotional introduction of the host. These unforgettable moments were presented again in the form of images, which aroused countless beautiful memories in the hearts of the audience and moved the entire audience.
As the atmosphere reached its climax, Li Ran, President of the School of International Exchange and Executive Chairman of the International Student Film and Video Festival of Beijing Film Academy, made a speech on the stage. She thanked the film festival honorary chairman Professor Xie Fei first and sincerely thanked all the support from the schools and departments leaders, the judges, guests at home and abroad, student directors from all over the world and all the friends who care about ISFVF. The successful holding of ISFVF is closely connected with everybody's support!
In the subsequent volunteer recognition session, a total of 47 volunteer students won the Outstanding Volunteer Award, respectively presented by the three executive chairmen of the International Student Film and Video Festival - Li Ran, Mi Jing, and Li Jin. The success of ISFVF cannot be achieved without the hard work of each volunteer. It is the dedication and professional quality of the volunteers that make ISFVF full of vitality and vitality forever!
At last, with the beginning of the Golden Award film Kick Tac, the audience once again entered the screen world, and the 17th ISFVF closing ceremony came to an end, though the audience reluctant to leave.
The teachers and student representatives who had worked hard for the film festival were also interviewed after the closing ceremony. Wu Lei, a student from Performance Institute of Beijing Film Academy, who was the moderator of the closing ceremony, said: “ I am honored to participate in the ISFVF as a moderator. It is a special attempt and experience in my university life. Through the understanding of the Film Panorama, I can feel the love and focus of my peers on the film, which will inspire me to keep moving on the road of the movie.” The Coordinator Liu Daoya, postgraduate from Management Department of BFA, said:” I participated in the 14th ISFVF as one of the International Film Coordination when I was an undergraduate. ISFVF is accompanied by my growth. For me, the ISFVF is both a grand event and a friend who has been with me for many years.” Mr. Wang Shaobai, a teacher from the department of directing, who is also one of the judges of the ISFVF, told us, “ During the 17 years of the ISFVF, I grew from student to a teacher, and from a volunteer to a judge. I also witness that the scale of ISFVF is expanding and the degree of attention is increasing year by the rear. I am very pleased that ISFVF has always kept the heart and keeps young and vigorous, which is also her unique charm.”
Then, the 17th International Student Film and Video Festival of Beijing Film Academy has been successfully concluded. In the past 17 years, ISFVF has been promoting the new power of the film with the aim of “ To advocate personality, art exploration, technical innovation, and self-expression.” In the future, the ISFVF will continue to promote the interaction and cooperation between art academies around the world and create a communication platform for the future film-makers. Just like the “eyes” logo, ISFVF will use the most unique vision to dig and encourage the world's best young film students, and ISFVF will also commit to becoming the origin of their movie dreams. 
In spite of the great distance, we will meet again at the 18th ISFVF at Beijing Film Academy. See you next year!
